WhichCraft is Planning a Trip to Wurstfest and YOU’RE INVITED! Austin Homebrew Festival Tickets are On Sale Now.

It’s that time of year again! Our favorite German-ish town to the south is throwing their annual sausage-and-polka-and-lederhosen-and-beer event…Wurstfest! WhichCraft Beer Store will once again be organizing a shuttle to and from the event, and we’ll be hitting a few breweries along the way. The trip was a HUGE success last year and we expect it to be even more fun this year. This shindig kicks off at 12:00PM on Saturday, November 12th, and tickets are $60 per person. More info and tickets can be found on our Eventbrite page.

We at WhichCraft Beer Store are looking forward to attending this years Austin Homebrew Festival, taking place on November 4th at Saengerrunde Hall. In may ways, home brewers drive the craft beer industry forward by innovating on existing styles of beer, as well as exploring new ones. The Austin Homebrewers Festival is an opportunity for home brewers around central Texas to meet, collaborate and most importantly… Drink! Tickets are on sale now at the festival’s Eventbrite page, and more information can be found on the AHF website.

However, unlike traditional versions of the style, this one features liberal additions of blood oranges during fermentation. This imparts tangy citrus notes that complement the champagne-like flavors, creating a complex and sessionable ale perfect for any occasion. 4.2% ABV / Boonville, CA / Ratebeer 89 / Availability: Good

Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Stout – Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. Boulevard Snow & Tell – Snow & Tell is composed of base pale malt, crystal/caramel malt, amber malt and just a touch of Beechwood smoked malt from Germany. At just under 1% of the total malt bill, the smoked malt lends subtle complexity without overpowering the layers of caramel and toffee flavors contributed by the crystal malt. Hopped with Magnum, Chinook and Styrian Goldings, Snow & Tell sees brief aging on medium toasted oak chips at the end of fermentation. 6.3% ABV / Kansas City, MO / Beeradvocate 82 / Availability: Good

Boulevard Bourbon Barrel Quad (Now in 4pks) – Based loosely on the Smokestack Series’ The Sixth Glass, this abbey-style quadrupel is separated into a number of oak bourbon barrels where it ages for varying lengths of time, some for up to three years. Cherries are added to make up for the “angel’s share” of beer lost during barrel aging. Selected barrels are then blended for optimum flavor. The resulting beer retains only very subtle cherry characteristics, with toffee and vanilla notes coming to the fore. 11.8% ABV / Kansas City, MO / Ratebeer 99 / Availability: Good
